KOPY is an AI-powered custom keyboard for iPhone that generates contextual message replies in under two seconds, working inside any iOS app without switching away from the conversation.

What problem does it solve?

Composing a good reply to a message — especially one that requires thought about tone, context, or wording — takes longer than most people want to spend. Tools like ChatGPT can help but require leaving the app, pasting text, copying a result, and switching back. That workflow adds friction and breaks the flow of conversation.

KOPY solves this by living on the keyboard itself: the AI is already where you type, so generating and inserting a reply requires no app-switching.

How it works (step by step)

  1. User receives a message in any iOS app
  2. User copies the message to the clipboard
  3. User switches to the KOPY keyboard using the globe (🌐) button
  4. User selects a Mode (Social, Work, Dating, Insight) and a Tone
  5. User taps Generate — the AI reply appears in the text field within ~2 seconds
  6. User sends the reply or edits it first

Modes

  • Social — Casual texts, group chats, DMs. Witty, relatable, lowercase-friendly output.
  • Insight — Forums, deep conversations. Thoughtful, analytical replies that add real value.
  • Work — Email, Slack, LinkedIn. Professional, clear, concise.
  • Dating — Tinder, Hinge, Bumble. Playful, confident, conversation-driving.

Tone options (10 total)

Agree, Disagree, Funny, Insight, Neutral, Rizz, Spicy, Question, Continue, Professional. Any tone can be combined with any mode, yielding 40 distinct reply styles.

Any iOS app with a text field: iMessage, WhatsApp, Telegram, Gmail, Outlook, Slack, Tinder, Hinge, Bumble, Instagram, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Discord, Microsoft Teams, and more.

Privacy

KOPY does not store, log, or train on user messages. Message text is sent to the AI provider to generate a reply and then discarded. No conversation history is retained. The app uses Firebase Authentication for sign-in; no passwords are stored.

Who built it

KOPY is an independent project built by Sebastian Kluger, a developer based in Berlin, Germany. It started as a personal tool and became a commercial product in 2025.
