Acceptance of terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the KOPY mobile application and website at getkopy.app (collectively, the "Service"), operated by KOPY ("we", "us", or "our").

By downloading, installing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Description of service

KOPY is an iOS keyboard extension that uses artificial intelligence to generate contextual reply suggestions. You install it as a custom keyboard on your iPhone, and it generates replies based on text you copy to your clipboard.

The Service requires an internet connection. AI generation quality may vary. KOPY does not guarantee that generated replies are accurate, appropriate, or suitable for any specific purpose.

Accounts and authentication

You may sign in to KOPY using your Apple ID or Google account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@getkopy.app if you suspect unauthorized access.

Subscriptions and billing

Plans

KOPY offers a free tier and paid subscriptions ("KOPY Pro") as well as a one-time "Own Key" purchase. Paid plans unlock additional modes (Work and Dating) and features.

Billing

All purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple via the App Store. By subscribing, you authorize Apple to charge your App Store payment method on the applicable billing cycle. We never directly handle or store your payment information.

Free trial

Pro subscriptions include a 3-day free trial for new subscribers. Your payment method will be charged at the end of the trial unless you cancel before the trial period expires.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your iPhone's App Store subscription settings (Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain Pro access until then.

Refunds

All refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policy. We do not issue refunds directly.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Generate content that is abusive, harassing, or threatening
• Generate content that violates any applicable law or regulation, including content related to illegal activities
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
• Use automated systems or bots to access the Service in a way that sends more requests than a human could reasonably produce
• Resell or sublicense access to the Service
• Attempt to circumvent our authentication, rate limiting, or premium access controls

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without prior notice.

Bring Your Own Key

If you use the Own Key plan with your personal OpenAI API key, you are responsible for compliance with OpenAI's usage policies and any associated API costs. We are not responsible for charges incurred through your own API key.

Intellectual property

The KOPY name, logo, app design, and all associated content are the intellectual property of KOPY and are protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

AI-generated reply text is provided to you for your personal use. We make no intellectual property claims over the content of the replies generated on your behalf.

Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS. AI MODELS CAN PRODUCE INACCURATE OR INAPPROPRIATE OUTPUT — ALWAYS REVIEW GENERATED REPLIES BEFORE SENDING THEM.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, KOPY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) $50 USD.

Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Changes to the service

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time. We may also update these Terms. If we make material changes, we will notify you at least 14 days in advance via the app or email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the European Union and applicable national law, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction in the country of the operator's place of business.
